Young Women Explore Futures at

"Dream It, Be It" Career Fair

March 7, 2026

To celebrate Internatonal Women's Day, Soroptimist International of South Delta  hosted a Dream It, Be It Career Fair, drawing young women from throughout the Lower Mainland to explore their future potential. The Career Fair, held at Tsawwassen Mills, fostered a diverse environment where young women could connect with career role models from a variety of professions.

This event combined an engaging career fair with two targeted workshops designed to give students practical tools for the "real world":

By connecting students with mentors, the Fair provided a unique space for young women to bridge the gap between their ambitions and their future careers.

Thank you to all who contributed to the event's success: the role models who helped inspire dreams., the volunteers who created a welcoming environment and the generous local organizations and businesses that provided sponsorships and donations.

Soroptimist Online Auction – Thank You, South Delta!

Our online auction has officially closed, and together we raised over $6,000 in support of programs that uplift women and girls in our community. Your generosity—whether you bid, shared the link, donated an item, or cheered us on—made this achievement possible.

Local businesses and artisans contributed one‑of‑a‑kind items and experiences. Bidders kept the excitement going right up to the final minutes. And our partners at Delta Stageworks Theatre Society added extra sparkle by showcasing auction items during their production of A 1920s Murder Mystery at the Red Barn—an evening many Soroptimists enjoyed together, filled with laughter, intrigue, and community spirit.

Every dollar raised strengthens our ability to provide mentorship, career exploration, and support programs that open doors for women and girls right here in South Delta. Your commitment fuels brighter futures and helps create lasting change.

Soroptimist volunteers share music and joy with seniors at Augustine House and The Waterford

December 18, 2025

It was a festive and joyful day of singing carols at Augustine House in Ladner and at Waterford Senior Living in Tsawwassen for a group of Soroptimists December 18. Decked in santa hats, wreath sweaters (Sue!), and even jingle bells, the group performed a handful of songs at both locations to entertain the residents, who also sang along with happy smiles. Afterward, candy canes were handed out to each resident and we enjoyed conversations and community-building with those who attended.

Some of us could sing. Some could not. But it didn't  matter! Joy filled the room and we all did our best to bring festive spirit to the room. The smiles we got in return were priceless and had us all feeling ready for a happy season ahead.

Local Soroptimists support South Delta Food Bank and Azure Place

November/December 2025

Christmas can be a time of plenty for some, yet for others it is a particularly challenging time of year.

Our members joined together for another successful Food Bank donation drive. We collected 42 items plus a purse filled with goodies. When counted

individually, that’s over 155 contributions!

The South Delta Food Bank was delighted to receive the donations and shared some helpful insights on what’s most needed. In addition to gluten‐free and dairy‐free goods, pet and baby supplies, the Food Bank often runs low on toilet paper and paper towels—great tips to keep

in mind for next month’s drive.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making a difference in our community.
